Job Introduction
Tate is a one-of-a-kind institution, and this is a one-of-a-kind role.
You’ll be the technical owner of a key part of our systems estate, at the intersection of CRM, ticketing, membership, ecommerce and email marketing. The principal system you’ll be working with is our CRM and ticketing platform Tessitura, which runs on a SQL Server database, but your work will span a much wider stack across other business functions as well.
You’ll be managing and developing these core commercial systems, working across the organisation to build their roadmaps and be responsible for their technical delivery. While you’ll have the autonomy to take the lead on this, you won’t be alone: we work closely with a number of external suppliers, and as part of Tate’s Digital team you’ll be surrounded by talented and supportive colleagues who’ll help you get things done.
We’ve got some real ambition for how we can grow these systems to help deliver our incredible programme of exhibitions and events, get actionable insights on our customer behaviour, and take advantage of emerging technologies and platforms. We’re looking for someone who’s excited by the prospect of making these systems sing together and who can deliver something incredible for our staff and customers.
To succeed in this role, you’ll have a broad interest in technology and the ability to think of creative approaches to problem solving and solution design. You will need to have some experience working with SQL, and an understanding of systems administration and integration would be useful, but we know that you may not have come across our particular tech stack before and so we’re much more interested in your attitude and your understanding of concepts, rather than your exposure to specific technology. In short, if you’ve got a solid technical foundation and the desire to learn then we want to hear from you.
No matter what your technical background looks like, you’ll have first-class people skills to help you work with stakeholders across Tate in your capacity as the owner of these systems, and an understanding of how to build and prioritise a roadmap for their ongoing development. Most importantly, though, you'll be excited by the prospect of helping to deliver large-scale technological and cultural change in a world-class organisation, and full of ideas for how we can make this happen.
Tate is a creative, diverse, welcoming environment full of passionate and dedicated people. This is a unique opportunity to join us on an incredible journey and help shape the future of one of the world’s leading arts organisations.
