A new opportunity for two Assistant Editors has arisen in our Interpretation team

We are looking for talented people with a passion for art and language to join our Interpretation team. Your editorial skills will help us shape the texts that introduce our audiences to exhibitions. Working alongside our curators and designers, you will ensure that the language we use in-gallery and online is fresh, lively and engaging.

The Assistant Editor: Interpretation will join a small editorial team. The team is responsible for all the texts in our exhibitions, commissions and displays. As Assistant Editor, you will contribute to discussions about the editorial direction our exhibitions and displays should take. You will use your skills to shape texts according to the editorial decisions made.

You will be an excellent wordsmith with highly developed English language skills. You will have advanced skills in grammar, understanding how to use language tools to refine, focus and polish text. You will have strong communication skills, enabling you to build bridges between experts and audiences. You will ensure that high level curatorial knowledge reaches Tate’s broad public appeal.
