Book Sales Lead

Job Introduction

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen at Tate for a Book Sales Lead role, working across our four galleries, our shops, and our award-winning publishing list to increase sales and our market presence.

As the Book Sales Lead at Tate, you will be responsible for developing the overall strategy for book sales across Tate Publishing and Tate Retail, helping to grow Tate’s reach, reputation and revenue. You will be a key player in driving sales growth and expanding market presence throughout the UK and across other export markets: providing input on new acquisitions, developing campaigns and managing our new and existing sales relationships. You will also help to curate the book offer across Tate’s shops in London, Liverpool and St Ives, maintaining relationships with publishers and working with Tate colleagues to reflect our programme and mission.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in arts publishing, within retail, publishing or a relevant sector. You should possess strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to open doors and close deals. Experience in sales strategy development for arts publishing with a strong network of contacts, along with a solid understanding of the UK art book market, is essential.
