Job Introduction
It’s an exciting time at Tate. We’re finishing the first phase of a large-scale digital transformation, a foundational piece of work to bring together the disparate systems behind our CRM, ticketing, membership, ecommerce, marketing, retail and catering operations. We’re an ambitious team, though, and we have big plans for how we can evolve and develop this commercial systems estate to turn it into something truly incredible.
Right now we’re working on our future roadmap, looking across internal functions such as audience insight, fundraising, events management and customer service. There are new integrations we’d like to build and new systems we’d like to scope and onboard – and of course we’ve always got one eye on the cutting edge of the tech and digital world, thinking about how we can best take advantage of emerging technologies and platforms.
To support our ambitions, we’re hiring a Commercial Systems Manager to take ownership of this systems estate, be responsible for its management, its roadmap and its ongoing development, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across the organisation to make sure that everyone at Tate gets the most out of it. We need someone who can become an expert across all our commercial systems, play a key part in their operation and evolution, and make a significant contribution to the delivery of our long-term aspirations.
To succeed in this role, you’ll have solid experience of systems administration, and the ability to think of creative approaches to problem solving and solution design. You’ll be working with commercially-focused technologies such as our CRM, ecommerce, email marketing, and payment processing systems, and you’ll need some experience working with SQL and an understanding of how systems link together in order to get the best out of these platforms. Experience of working with our tech stack (Tessitura, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and Emarsys) would be beneficial, but we understand you may not have come across these particular systems before, and if you’ve got a solid foundation to build on and the desire to learn new things then we’re interested in hearing from you.
You’ll have first-class people skills to help you work with stakeholders across Tate in your capacity as the owner of these systems, and an understanding of how to build and prioritise a roadmap for their ongoing development. Most importantly, though, you'll be excited by the prospect of helping to deliver large-scale technological and cultural change in a world-class organisation, and full of ideas for how we can make this happen.
You’ll work with some fantastic colleagues, gain experience with a wide range of technology, and get involved in both business-as-usual work and ad hoc projects. While we’ll challenge you to grow your skills and take on new responsibilities, we’ll also make sure we support you at every step along the way.
Tate is a creative, diverse, welcoming environment full of passionate and dedicated people. This is a unique opportunity to join us on an incredible journey and help shape the future of one of the world’s leading arts organisations.
